कालेश्वर। भूपालपल्ली दिनांक 17 में 2025                                    सिरोंचा तालुक्यापासून अवघ्या ७ किलोमीटर अंतरावर असलेल्या तेलंगणातील काळेश्वरम येथे सुरू असलेल्या सरस्वती पुष्कर मेळ्याने आज एक वेगळीच झळाळी मिळवली. हजारो भाविकांची गर्दी, “गंगा आरतीचे” स्वर आणि पवित्र स्नानाची आस – या श्रद्धेच्या महासागरात आज धर्मनगरी काळेश्वरम अक्षरशः न्हाऊन निघाली.

मात्र या अध्यात्मिक उत्सवाच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर उभे राहिलेलं व्यवस्थेचं अपयश भाविकांच्या मनात नाराजीचं सावट पसरवत आहे.

तीन तासांचा ट्राफिक जाम, भाविकांची अडचणीत धावपळ

दुपारनंतर कालेश्वरमकडे येणाऱ्या मार्गावर सुमारे दोन ते तीन तास मोठा वाहतूक कोंडी अनुभवायला मिळाली. वाहनांच्या लांबच लांब रांगा, उन्हाच्या झळा आणि पाण्याचा अभाव – यामुळे अनेक भाविकांचे त्रासदायक अनुभव वाढले.

पुष्करासाठी तेलंगणा सरकारने ३० कोटी रुपयांचा निधी जाहीर केला असला तरी मैदानावरील वस्तुस्थिती मात्र याच्या नेमके उलट चित्र दर्शवते.

व्हीआयपी ‘स्पेस’, पण सामान्य सुविधांचा अभाव

पुष्करासाठी काही ठिकाणी विशेष “व्हीआयपी झोन गाठ” तयार करण्यात आले, पण ते न केवळ अनधिकृतपणे व्यापले गेले, तर कोणत्याही मूलभूत सुविधा नसलेल्या प्लास्टिक तंबूंमध्ये भाविकांना थांबण्यास भाग पाडले जात आहे.

काल रात्री झालेल्या हलक्या पावसाने हे तंबू अक्षरशः झोपवून काढले. अनेक भक्तांच्या कपड्यांसह अन्नपाणी ओलं होऊन गेलं. काही ठिकाणी घसरून पडण्याचे प्रकारही घडले. यामुळे सुरक्षिततेबाबत सरकारच्या दाव्यांवर प्रश्नचिन्ह उभं राहत आहे.

गंगा आरतीचं आकर्षण, भक्तिमय संध्या

दररोज सायंकाळी काळेश्वरम घाटावर होणारी गंगा आरती हा या पुष्कर मेळ्याचा आत्मा ठरत आहे. बाहेरून निमंत्रित केलेले अर्थी कलाकार “हर हर गंगे” च्या जयघोषात मंत्रमुग्ध वातावरण तयार करत आहेत.अनेक भाविक खास गंगा आरतीचा अनुभव घेण्यासाठी संध्याकाळी लवकरच घाटावर पोहोचतात.

मुख्यमंत्री व मंत्र्यांच्या उपस्थितीचा जलवा

पुष्कर महोत्सवात तेलंगणाचे मुख्यमंत्री, उपमुख्यमंत्री आणि अनेक कॅबिनेट मंत्री दररोज उपस्थित राहत आहेत. त्यामुळे सुरक्षेचा अजोड बंदोबस्त असून काही वेळा सर्वसामान्य भाविकांना अडथळ्यांनाही सामोरे जावे लागत आहे.

श्रद्धा आहे, पण स्वच्छतेचा अभाव

भाविकांच्या संख्येच्या तुलनेत पाणी, शौचालय, कचरा व्यवस्थापन आणि आरोग्य सुविधा अपुऱ्या आहेत.स्नानासाठी उतरणाऱ्या घाटांवर गाळ, घसरडे दगड आणि गर्दीचा ताण – यामुळे अपघातांची शक्यता वाढली आहे. स्थानिक स्वयंसेवक याठिकाणी मदतीसाठी सज्ज असले तरी संख्येने अपुरी ठरत आहेत.

श्रद्धेच्या उत्सवात सुविधा हवीतच

सरस्वती पुष्कर मेला म्हणजे श्रद्धेचा महासागर; पण या महासागरात भाविकांची गैरसोय, थकवा आणि नाराजी यांचा प्रवाह बहुतेक कुणालाच जाणवत नाहीये. सरकारने निधी दिला असला, तरी त्याचा खरा उपयोग झाला का? यावर प्रश्नचिन्ह निर्माण होत आहे.पावसाळा जवळ येतोय, गर्दी वाढतेय – अशा वेळी व्यवस्थापन अधिक सक्षम नसेल, तर धार्मिक उत्सव अपघातांचा निमित्त बनू शकतो.

A massive crowd gathered today at Kaleshwaram, located just 7 kilometers from Sironcha, in connection with the ongoing Saraswati Pushkaram Mela. The religious fair, rich in tradition and spiritual devotion, witnessed heavy footfall, resulting in traffic congestion lasting for nearly 2 to 3 hours around the surrounding areas.

Despite the Telangana government allocating ₹30 crore for the Pushkaram event, devotees continue to face a shortage of essential amenities, raising serious questions about planning and execution.

Traffic Chaos and Struggles of Devotees

As the day progressed, a long traffic jam brought roads near Kaleshwaram to a standstill. Pilgrims, some of whom had travelled for hours, were left stranded in scorching heat with limited access to water, shelter, or sanitation. Devotees expressed frustration over poor crowd control and lack of basic support from authorities.

VIP Zones Without Basic Arrangements

Although some areas were marked for VIPs, these enclosures lacked even basic facilities. Makeshift tents set up for pilgrims were blown away by rain last night, leaving many devotees soaked and exposed to the elements.

There were also reports of devotees slipping and falling due to muddy and uneven surfaces, raising concerns about the safety of the thousands visiting each day.

Ganga Aarti – The Spiritual Highlight

The evening Ganga Aarti, conducted at the riverside ghats, has become a major attraction of the Pushkaram. Special priests and performers have been invited from outside the region, and the chants of “Har Har Gange” echoing at dusk create a divine and immersive experience.

Crowds begin gathering hours in advance to witness this spiritual spectacle.

Political Presence Adds Glamour, Not Comfort

High-profile political figures including the Chief Minister of Telangana and cabinet ministers are expected to make daily visits to the site, attracting media attention and adding to the buzz. However, the focus on VIP presence seems to have come at the cost of attention to common pilgrims’ needs.

Severe Lack of Sanitation, Cleanliness, and Medical Aid

Despite the sacredness of the event, clean drinking water, clean toilets, waste disposal, and medical facilities remain lacking. The ghats where pilgrims bathe are slippery and dangerous due to mud and poor maintenance.

Though local volunteers are doing their best, the management appears grossly underprepared for the scale of the gathering.

Faith Overflows, But Systems Fall Short

The Saraswati Pushkaram Mela is a spiritual confluence of tradition, devotion, and community. However, the glaring mismanagement and negligence have cast a shadow over what should be a divine experience.

As monsoon nears and footfall increases, urgent improvements are needed. If corrective measures are not taken, the event risks becoming a logistical and safety disaster in the name of faith.
