तालुक्यातील गणपूर परिसरात नरभक्षी वाघाची दहशत कायम असून, शुक्रवारी (14 मार्च) सायंकाळी येनापूर गावाजवळ वाघाने दोन म्हशींवर हल्ला करून त्यांना जखमी केले.

सुरेश जक्कुलवार यांच्या मालकीच्या म्हशी चारण्यासाठी जंगलालगत गेल्या असता वाघाने त्यांच्यावर हल्ला केला. मात्र, म्हशींनी प्रतिकार करून स्वतःचा जीव वाचवला. घटनेची माहिती मिळताच स्थानिकांनी वनविभागाला कळवले.

दरम्यान, काही दिवसांपूर्वीच गणपूर येथील शेतकरी सुरेश राऊत यांचा वाघाच्या हल्ल्यात मृत्यू झाला होता. त्यानंतर हा वाघ गणपूर, लक्ष्मणपूर, विठ्ठलपूर, जैरामपूर आणि येनापूर परिसरात मुक्तपणे फिरत असून, नागरिकांमध्ये भीतीचे वातावरण निर्माण झाले आहे.

शेतकरी व स्थानिक नागरिकांनी वाघाला त्वरित जेरबंद करण्याची मागणी केली असली, तरी वनविभागाच्या पथकाला अद्याप यश मिळालेले नाही. आता दोन म्हशींवर हल्ला झाल्यानंतर नागरिकांमध्ये असुरक्षिततेची भावना अधिक तीव्र झाली आहे. संभाव्य जीवितहानी व पशूहानी टाळण्यासाठी वनविभागाने तातडीने उपाययोजना कराव्यात, अशी मागणी होत आहे.

Man-Eater Tiger Terrorizes Ganpur Area – Injures Two Buffaloes

Chamorshi: The terror of a man-eater tiger continues to haunt the Ganpur area. On Friday, March 14, around 4 to 5 PM, the tiger attacked and injured two buffaloes near Yenapur village.

The buffaloes, owned by Suresh Jakkulwar from Yenapur, were grazing near the village when the tiger attacked them from behind. However, the buffaloes managed to fight back and escape, though they sustained injuries. Upon receiving the information, the forest department was immediately alerted.

Earlier, the same tiger had killed a farmer named Suresh Raut from Ganpur while he was watering his maize field. Since then, the tiger has been roaming around Ganpur, Laxmanpur, Vitthalpur, Jairampur, and Yenapur, creating fear among the locals. Farmers are now scared to step into their fields.

Despite constant efforts by the forest department to capture the tiger, no success has been achieved so far. With the recent attack on the buffaloes, the demand to capture the tiger immediately has intensified to prevent further loss of human life and livestock.
